Takin Care/of Business

fullsizeoutput_487fAbout 2 months ago, one of my friends shared an irresistible coupon with me. You know those deals that are just too good to pass up – yeah, this was one of those. The deal was for vitamins…no judgment here (haha), I’m about to totally geek out over vitamins – brace yourselves.

I sat on the idea for about a month, then took the short quiz, created my account, and before I knew it my first box was on its way. Thinking back, I believe I only paid $3 or $4 just to cover shipping. I try to eat healthy and use oils to stay strong, so I figured adding vitamins in to the mix would only help my situation.

Yesterday morning, one of my Facebook memories from 2009 popped up – it read “Allison Costa is running on empty”. I’m not sure what I was doing to actually be “running on empty” my freshman year of high school, but I could have been fighting a cold, or maybe it was homecoming week, or maybe I was staying up all night studying for a test…who knows. When I really think back to that time, I was probably tired.

I have never, I repeat NEVER, been a morning person. In high school, my poor mom got the brunt of it trying to wake me up in the morning (sorry Mom!). Then came college – I tried my hardest not to sign up for an 8am class, but when I did, I would roll out of bed 20 minutes before class, brush my teeth, then run across campus to show up on time. I could have slept in until 11am every single day (George & Sarah can attest) and still feel tired. I was a little bit nervous about joining the workforce because of this chronic tiredness but I thought it was normal – I was busy, always had a lot going on, and probably stayed up a little too late. Because of exercise, peppermint oil, and coffee, I’ve been able to get by without noticing a difference.

Back to now – I began taking my vitamins daily. It’s been a month since I started, and I can see a change – I feel so good. I’ve felt a drastic change in my energy level, mood, and immunity. It’s unbelievable. This past week, I taught yoga 4 days, waking up at 5am and I haven’t even batted an eye. Monday, I had a 13 hr work day and was able to sleep like a rock, then pop up fully energized and rested the next day. This is unheard of for me. I didn’t realize how much better I could feel with the correct vitamin additions to my daily routine.

Yes Mom, you owe me an “I told ya so” because you have been telling me to take vitamins for years. I can only attribute this to being lazy and forgetful. Until Care/of I would start taking vitamins for about 2 weeks, not notice a difference, and then stop. This company makes it so convenient and fun to pack along your bag of vitamins. Each package is personalized and includes a quote, fun fact, or question. When I was in Tahoe with friends, we read my pack at breakfast and were always left with something interesting to chat about.

When you join Care/of, you take a quick quiz about your health goals, current routines, and dietary restrictions. They will provide you with recommendations on vitamins that could be helpful to you, then you are able to edit your pack before placing an order. It is a subscription based service, so you will be set to receive your box every month! There is also an app you can download that reminds you to take your vitamins and allows you to track your progress. Every few days the app will provide you with studies that pertain to what you are taking, such as changes that have been reported and statistics on how much of a fruit or veggie you would have had to eat to get the same nutrients.

This is a 100% honest review of my experience – no exaggeration at all. I cannot believe the difference in my sleep quality and energy levels. I have been feeling SO good that I had to share! If you have any questions about Care/of or what I have been taking, don’t hesitate to reach out! If you want to give it a try here’s a coupon code (use it to get $40 off your first box!)
